How to Use PaperCut's Canon Follow Me Printing at LSSC

Overview 

Follow Me printing allows users to print to a shared queue and release their jobs from any Canon Copier. This improves security, reduces waste, and enhances convenience. 

 

Step-by-Step Instructions 

Send Your Print Job to the Canon Follow Me Queue

 In the example above, the default printer for the user is the ITSvs_Copy copier.  This user also has access to the Canon Follow Me copier. 
 
Select the 'Canon Follow Me' printer from your list of available printers. 

 

If you do not see Canon Follow Me in the list of printers, please open a Helpdesk ticket to have a member of IT Staff configure this for you. 

 

Retrieve your Canon Follow ME printout(s) 

Physically visit any Canon Copier at LSSC. 

 

Authenticate Yourself 

On the console, select ID Number, then enter your XID

This ensures that only you can release your print jobs.  If you are printing something confidential, it will remain in your print queue until you have the time to visit a copier to release it at that moment. 

 

Release Your Print Job

Make sure your name is in the Top Right (1). 

Select Print Release (2). 

 

 

Select your jobs for Print 

Select the job(s) you want to print – you may just have one, or you may have several.

Select PRINT on the Bottom-Right

You can also delete jobs you no longer need by pressing on the Trashcan Icon. 

 

Return to Main Menu

Logout 

Always log out to protect your account and ensure security.

Troubleshooting Tips 

Job not showing? Make sure you sent it to the correct queue. 

Can’t log in? Verify you are using your XID. 

Printer offline? Try another Follow Me-enabled device or call the Helpdesk at 3505.
