How to Use PaperCut's Follow Me Printing at LSSC

Overview

Follow Me printing allows users to print to a shared queue and release their jobs from any enabled printer. This improves security, reduces waste, and enhances convenience.

 

Step-by-Step Instructions

1) Send Your Print Job to the Follow Me Queue

                There are 2 Follow Me Queues at LSSC:
                                Kyocera Printers’:  FOLLOW ME
                                Canon Printers’:  CANON FOLLOW ME

In the example above, the default printer for the user is the ITSvs_Copy printer.  This user also has access to the FOLLOW ME and Canon Follow Me.  Canon printers are new to LSSC, but everyone should have the Kyocera FOLLOW ME in their drop-down.

  • Select the 'FOLLOW ME' printer from your list of available printers.

If you do not see either in your list of printers, please open a Helpdesk ticket to have a member of IT Staff configure this for you.

 

2) Go to Any Enabled Printer

  • Walk up to any LSSC copier to use Follow Me printing.
  • Remember, Kyocera uses FOLLOW ME

        Canon uses Canon Follow Me

Authenticate Yourself

  • On the console, enter your XID -- Please enter numbers only, the X prefix is dropped when using copiers.

  • This ensures only you can release your print jobs, and Only You.  If you are printing something confidential, it will remain in your print queue until you have the time to visit a printer to release it at that moment.

 

Release Your Print Job

  • Select Print Release (2).
  • Select the job(s) you want to print – you may just have one, or you may have several.

  • Your job(s) will have a check after selecting.

  • Tap 'Print' on the bottom right of the screen.

  • You can also delete jobs you no longer need by pressing on the Trashcan Icon.

Log Out

  • Always log out to protect your account and ensure security.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Job not showing? Make sure you sent it to the correct queue.
  • Can’t log in? Verify you are using your XID.
  • Printer offline? Try another Follow Me-enabled device or call the Helpdesk at 3505.
